How to buy Gold Chains for Men

Men sometimes have a hard time picking the right type of gold chain.   Many gold chains are unisex but if the chain is not thick enough or the style is not right, it may look too feminine for a man.  This guide is designed to help you purchase a Gold Chain as a present for a man or for yourself.

Length

The length of the chain is critical to the look that you want to achive.   For most men I reccomend at least 20 Inches to 24 Inches regardless if you are going to wear the chain with a pendant or not.  If you are a really big guy I would reccomend that you go with a chain at least 22 Inches long. Their are other senerios where this dosen’t apply.  Once case is if you are tring to achive the choker look. In this case I would reccomend an 18 chain.  Antother case is when you want the chain to hang low.  In this case I would reccomend a 30 Inch Chain.

Thickness

The thickness of a gold chain, especially if you are going to wear it without a pendant can make or break the look that you want.  If you are wearing the chain without a pendant most likely you want to showcase the chain itself and you would want a thicker chain.  If you are going to wear the chain with a pendant, most likely you would like to showcase the pendant.  In this case, you would want a thinner chain.

If you are going to wear a chain without a pendant I would make sure that the chain is at least 4mm to 6mm thick. If you go with a chain thinner than that, the chain will look femminine.   Many Hip Hop Artists wear chains that are really thick.  These chains are usually 10mm thick or more.

If you are going to wear the chain with a pendant I would make sure that the chain is around 2mm thick in most cases.  In the case of the box chain you could go with one that is 1.4mm thick.
